Scheduling
We are able to schedule all urgent sick call the same day. Physical exams can be scheduled within 3 months. You may receive an automated call telling you that your child is on a wait list for an appointment. These calls will start coming 3 months before the appointment is due. We suggest that you call us without delay if you want a good choice of appointment times. After school appointments are the first to go. Every effort is made to schedule with your preferred provider.
Our providers in S Burlington work in two teams. Dr Quayle, Dr Kennedy and Kate Margulius PA are one team and Dr Fiorenza, Dr Camelo and Rebecca Nagle NP are the second team. Candace Hines, NP, IBCLC works with both teams and specializes in lactation and asthma issues. When your child comes in we suggest that the appointment be made with someone on your team. This enables 3 providers to become well acquainted with you and your child and improves the continuity of care.
At our North Ave office we have Dr Perron and Dr Veit . We recommend that patients be followed at one office for their medical care, again to reinforce continuity of care. All after hour appointments will be in S. Burlington.
Timber Lane Pediatrics strives to provide ample time at each visit for the practitioner to listen to you, examine your child, and review the medical diagnosis and plan with you. We try to balance this goal with the goals of seeing patients in a timely manner, and being available for as many patients as may need to be seen in the course of a day.
At times, our providers run late due to emergencies, unexpected delays at the hospital, or other circumstances out of our control. We understand that your time is valuable and will do our utmost to see your child on time.
Patients who arrive late for appointments will be seen at the discretion of the provider. Calling the office to inform us you will be late is appreciated, but may not guarantee that the practitioner will be able to see you. If you are scheduled for a same-day sick visit, and you are late, we may ask that you see another provider, or come back later in the day. To allow for check-in you should arrive a few minutes before your appointment.
In most circumstances we open our providers’ schedules several months in advance. Because of changing vacation and conference schedules, there may be instances when these appointments must be changed. Please keep this in mind when booking in advance.
Missed or late appointments
If you must cancel an appointment, please call the office at least 24 hours in advance so that we can reschedule you and make that time available to others. Several missed appointments may result in discharge from the practice.
Medical Insurance
PCHP has a mission to provide quality health care to our patients. We contract with many insurance companies in order to provide our customers the convenience of having us submit the bill directly to the insurance company for payment. In order for this system to work efficiently please inform us immediately of any changes in your coverage. With most insurance companies there is a percentage of the visit cost that the patient is responsible for. Co-pays and other payments are requested at time of service.
We understand the challenges that face all of us in the coming year with the fragile economy and rising cost of living. If you have an overdue balance Timber Lane Pediatrics would like to work with you to establish a suitable payment plan. In the abscence of a payment plan, we may be forced to send your account to a collection agency. Please contact us at 864-0521 if you need to set up a plan.
Referrals
It is important that you and your child’s doctor discuss any referrals to specialists outside of our office. If your child requires specialty care, your doctor can provide the specialist with the details of your child’s medical needs. In addition, our office can help you schedule the appointment.
Many insurance companies will cover the cost of a visit to the specialist, provided our office first approves it. Please check with your insurance to see if you need a referral. If you are asked to return to see the specialist, check with us first to be sure that this return visit will also be covered by your insurance.
Student Training
The providers in our office feel that teaching other professionals is very important. Several times during the year we may have medical, nurse practitioner and physician assistant students shadowing the providers. Your provider’s nurse will check with you to obtain permission for the student to accompany your provider into the room or to speak with you and examine your child. If you wish to be seen only by your provider only, please tell the nurse.
