Telephone Advice
If you have a question about your child’s health, please give us a call. We have nurses and trained Medical Assistants who can take the information relating to your child’s health issue and may give you some immediate advice. The doctors review the calls between seeing patients and will determine the best treatment for your child. If you feel that your child needs more immediate attention, tell our staff so that we might schedule an appointment. If you need to speak with your doctor directly, we will leave a message for your provider to return your call.
We also have Lactation Consultants who can return your call if you have breastfeeding concerns.
We have an independent Licensed Psychologist sharing our office who is available to families who need her expertise.
Please note that the phones at North Ave are forwarded to South Burlington from 11:45am-1pm and after 4:45pm and on weekends.
Appointments
Each weekday appointments are available to see children with acute illness. Depending on patient volume these appointments are scheduled between 9am and 5pm extending into the evening if necessary. All sick children will be seen on the same day.
On the weekends and holidays the office is open for acute urgent visits only. No routine visits will be scheduled. Nurses are available to answer your questions. We ask that you call Mon-Fri to schedule routine, non urgent appointments.
After hour coverage
From 6 pm until 8:30am on weekdays and from 12noon until 8:30am on weekends and holidays our phones are answered by the answering service. There is always a Timber Lane physician on-call to help with urgent or emergent situations that cannot wait until the next day. This service is not intended for long-term chronic problems that can be handled much more effectively by your child’s own provider. We have a series of links (For Our Parents) available to you to help you determine if an after hours call is appropriate. If you feel that you need to speak with a physician, the answering service will page the on-call provider.
